A community baby quilt that I am assisting in assembling was two blocks short... so Big Reg got into action.  Embroidery sure is fun.

What to do when...

What to do when you buy a new pillow and then when you are making the bed realise that the pillow is not the standard size?  Answer: grab a piece of Hoffman and sew a pillowcase.  I used to wonder how people were able to topstitch so precisely at the edge.  Answer, #5 foot, needle over one position to the left.  Easy.

Just in time for 2013- I made a journal cover with embroidered initials and year.

Cheating..

These are the two Asian fabic quilts I am working on.

Stitch in the ditch foot.

Back of one of the quilts.

Yep, the new gadgets make it so easy that it is like cheating.  The stitch in the ditch foot makes it so that I hardly have to look to see where I am going. Having fun exploring the potential.

Pink Princess

In between a busy work schedule I made this for a little girl who loves the color pink. Great fun to make.

A Whole New World

This is a very bad photo, but you can see a glimpse of the new world I have discovered. Machine embroidery.  My quilts will soon be adorned with words and such.

Sewing Time

I have had some blocks of available time for sewing so I finally was able to tackle Bonnie Hunter's Scrappy Trips Around the World.  This is a pattern that I have wanted to make for years.  When Bonnie came to San Diego a few months ago I was unable to get into her class which was doing this pattern so I resolved to do it on my own.

Here is the progress that I have made so far..36 blocks.  I think that it is big enough, although I am sure Bonnie with her gigantic quilts would disagree.  Still playing with the layout.
