Baby Quilts

Coworker is expecting a baby boy in the next few weeks. I made the Matching Quilt first.  It is one of my favorite quilt patterns.  There are 49 pairs of fabrics and the idea is to find the matching pair.  It actually is pretty difficult as I found out when I ended up with one square extra when laying it out.  After the top was sewn and basted I ended up having extra fabric left over.  The backing is the blue with fire trucks.  So, what does one do when there is extra fabric? Why make another quilt of course.  So, I used another of my favorites and made this smaller quilt.  I used flannel on the back and Hobbs batting so it is soft for a newborn.  Baby shower present for the baby and for the big brother.
