Busy times for me.  I have been cleaning off my sewing table...a huge task.  I have many pieces of batting that were just waiting around so I went through some of the tops that were just waiting around and matched them up. I then prepared backings and basted a bunch of quilts-- so many I lost count. I know that I did three yesterday and two today.
The red hearts quilt I cut out and sewed using flannel that was gifted to me. It was quilted yesterday and is ready to have the binding sewn on.

I have also worked to finish a few more tops. For the next few days I think it is going to be quilting time. I prepared bindings already for a few of the quilts so I should be having some finished quilts soon.

The Ashley quilt was mailed off to its recipient today.

Quilt Factory

Back of the Orange Pinwheel quilt.

Back of the Dr. Suess quilt.

This one is a take off of a pattern we did in quilt class- Modern Logging.  I took it way farther and imagined what would happen if Dr. Suess built a log cabin. I am planning on quilting it in a crazy way. I already started to quilt it. Undecided about the binding.  I can go with a darker blue and aqua binding or go crazy with yellow plaid and such.

These are "After Quilts". As I was cleaning up after making the Angela quilt I noticed that there were many pieces of the right size to do another Parker's Square Quilt. Just enough to make this large crib sized quilt.

When I was doing the 36 patch quilt I cut two wof at 2.5". I only needed about 45" so there was some left over.  I assembled four patch units and had enough for this crib sized quilt.  I quilted it and bound it today.

So, you see it does seem like a quilt factory around here. I went to Joann's today and bought 40 yards of warm and white- had to do it since I only have enough left for one more quilt and hey,  it was on sale 50% off and then I had a 10 % student discount on top of that.

What will tomorrow bring????

Works in Progress-

I basted two quilts today. First there is my 36 patch.  It is pretty wild and I like it.  I am still thinking about how I am going to quilt it.

The pink one is for a girl in foster care who likes pink and hello kitty.  She also likes music.  I had a hard time with choosing fabrics for the back to get the music fabric in but it turned out fun.
Why is it that if I am laying out a quilt I get a grey helper every time?

Parker's Square
I made two different quilts using this pattern. The green one I made many more blocks than the pattern called for.  The purple one I followed the pattern and made it to size. Used the embroidery fonts to embroider initials. Used wavy stitch to quilt the border. On the green one- A's dorm quilt I quilted circles.  They reminded me of cells.
